What are the costs assocated with this program?

Am I required to complete the Visual Arts Foundation certificate program before entering the Photography Media Arts program?

No, Photography Media Arts is the only program at McKenzie College that doesn’t require the completion of the 1st year entrance Visual Arts Foundation program.

Do I have to provide my own camera?

Yes, you are required to possess a camera on day one of the program. If you need help finding a new or used camera that meets the required specifications, we are certainly willing to help you do so. In fact, as part of your acceptance package, we will provide a camera recommendation list, along with required and recommended supplies and equipment.

Do I need a computer for this program?

Yes, however, you do not need to purchase your own. As part of your tuition costs, a new 13” Apple MacBook Pro laptop and a 12-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud software package are provided to you during the program. The computer is then yours to keep upon successful completion of the program.

What if I already own a MacBook laptop?

If it meets the required specifications set by Adobe Creative Cloud and McKenzie College, we will deduct the cost of the laptop from your tuition. However, most students take the opportunity to get a new laptop through McKenzie College.

Can I work on paid projects while in school?

Yes, in fact we encourage it! Because you will have the necessary tools and licensed software at program start, you can complete projects for clients during the school year. We often have businesses contact us looking to hire students for design and art projects throughout the year.

Does this program allow for me to work part-time?

Yes. We understand that you may need to work while attending McKenzie College. You will be required to work on class projects after school hours but most work is done in class, freeing up evenings and weekends for you.
